HiTalent Recruitment is seeking an experienced Family Worker / Specialist to join a community-based program in Western and South West Sydney. This role pays up to $90k plus super and $15,900k in salary packaging benefits and is full-time.
Are you a compassionate and skilled community services professional with a desire to support children who have experienced trauma?
We are working exclusively with a well-respected not-for-profit organisation to seek a dedicated Family Worker / Specialist to join their team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in providing support to children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence; this role will also be responsible for providing group and play therapy, ensuring the service is child-centred, developing and designing the best practice models to support children that have experienced complex trauma.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Delivery of therapeutic services, including play therapies, tailored to the needs of children
- Recommend and provide support to parents around healthy child development, how trauma impacts the brain and support services available to families
- Working with the mother and child to promote and repair the relationship
- Uphold organisational values and policies while maintaining a commitment to quality service delivery
- Participate in the professional support and development of the service
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or similar
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with young people with childhood trauma
- Demonstrated proficiency in delivering play therapies, understanding of attachment theories and dyadic developmental therapy
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively independently and in a team
